Chris Ferrante and Laura Waltz are the owners and operators of Central Coast Hospitality, LLC. They met nearly two decades ago, in 2003, while working at the Dream Inn Hotel in Santa Cruz. At the time, Chris was the General Manager, and Laura was working at the front desk while finishing college. In 2005 Chris moved to Southern Caifornia to renovate, rebrand, and operate a 500 room Sheraton at the Disneyland Resort. Before leaving Santa Cruz, she promoted Laura to Front Office Manager of the Dream Inn. A few years later Chris returned to Santa Cruz and bought her first hotel. Her search for a GM was short, Laura was her first and last phone call. They have been working side by side ever since.
In all our years in the industry, we have experienced first-hand all the lifecycles of hotels, and many of the ups and downs of the tourism industry and the economy.
Anyone with any longevity in the hotel industry had to question the industries future when COVID-19 hit in March 2020. Overnight the industry went from a 10-year expansion to a literal shutdown. We too had questions, but we had more answers. Due to the devastation in our industry, we felt our experience and resources could assist those owners who did not have the answers and were unsure of their next steps. In late 2020 we decided to expand the Management Company.
As we enter 2021 with an approved vaccine, we know it was just a matter of time until travel returns. We look forward to helping those hotels along the Central Coast to position themselves for a sustainable future.
